On November 1st, 2023, at the behest of Rumtek Sangha and Kun Kyong Charitable Trust, Kyabje Drubwang Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche graciously visited Martam Lekdhom. This visit marked the future site for the construction of Yewang Samten Ling Retreat Centre, a new preliminary monastic school of Rumtek Shedra. The retreat center aims to provide a space for learning and practicing the Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

During the visit, Kyabje Rinpoche led the smoke offering ritual, using the text “The Cloud Heap of Amrita” (Due-Tse-Trin-Phung), along with the satisfaction ritual of Mahakala. This was followed by a cleansing ritual (Thrue) performed to purify the mountain, water, forest, and all the devotees gathered at the event.

The event was attended by the officials of Kun Kyong Charitable Trust, as well as general public from Martam, Sikkim, students and sangha from various monasteries who participated in the day-long program.
