His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje has directed Tsurphu Labrang and Kun Kyong Charitable Trust to support the endeavours of the Central and State Governments in its fight against the global endemic. His Holiness is very concerned about the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 in India and across the globe and appreciate the timely and untiring efforts made by the Government of India led by Honourable Prime Minister and the State Govts in containing this deadly disease.
As per the direction of His Holiness, Tsurphu Labrang and Kun Kyong Charitable Trust made a cumulative contribution of a sum of ₹12 Lakhs to the PM CARES Fund and ₹3 lakhs each to the State Govt of Sikkim and the State Govt of Himachal Pradesh respectively.

Similarly, under the guidance of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Kagyupa International Monlam Trust (Kagyu Monlam) has also made a contribution of ₹5 Lakhs to the PM Cares Fund and ₹5 lakhs to the State Government of Bihar and; Kagyu Monlam has also been coordinating with the District authorities in Gaya to support essential needs of the needy people around the districts of Bihar.
