26 June 2020, New Delhi: On occasion of the 35th birthday of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Kun Kyong Charitable Trust donated medicines, sanitising agents, masks, gloves, digital thermometer etc to prepare kits to be supplied to anybody in the Tibetan/Himalayan community, Delhi in cases of CoVid-19 emergencies and home quarantine.
Number of people in the community getting affected by CoVid-19 is increasing every day. To date, there have been 2 deaths in the Tibetan colony, Delhi and 2 more deaths among people who had travelled outside Delhi from the colony. People with mild symptoms of CoVid-19 will require medical care at home and many will not be able to afford hospitalisation. For such cases, under the leadership of Tibetan Settlement Office, home care and monitoring is being organised with the aid of a group of Tibetan doctors and nurses of both Allopathic and Sowa Rigpa.
Kun Kyong Charitable Trust made the donation towards the aforementioned initiative. The donation worth Rs 2,56,250/- was made via Tibetan Settlement Office of Majnukatilla, New Aruna Nagar Colony, New Delhi.
