4th Ārya Kshema Winter Dharma Gathering for Kagyu Nuns

The Arya Kshema Incense Project continued for second year from January 22nd – February 19th, 2017 at Monlam Pavilion, Bodhgaya with 17 nuns participating in the training of incense making. Altogether the nuns made 1600 boxes of incense.

On 3 March 2017, the historic revival of full ordination of Tibetan Buddhist nuns was held before the formal beginning of the 4th Ārya Kshema Winter Dharma Gathering for Kagyu Nuns.

On this first day of the 4th Arya Kshema Winter Gathering, the Karmapa welcomed 560 nuns from nine different shedras (scholastic colleges) and their teachers, along with large groups of nuns from Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, and China as well as a few from the West plus the community of laywomen. From March 6 to 18, the shedra nuns participated in the thirteen days of teachings, debate, and ritual ceremonies.

The 13 days programme was fully sponsored by Kun Kyong Charitable Trust.
